Pigment Sprinkles

This past weekend I was a part of stampin' retreat hosted by Stamp with Lisa Marie AKA my amazing mom. ( follow her here--> Stamp with Lisa Marie ). It was great fun and I was able to play with some product that has been sitting on my shelf for quite some time. One of the products was the pigment sprinkles, which to be honest are quite intimidating to me. I very much like for things to be precise and controlled and I don't like when I lose control of my work, and pigment sprinkles are very unpredictable! So after I created a horrid disaster that I will save your eyes and not share with you, I was cleaning my space with a baby wipe and this amazing smear affect occurred... so I decided to recreate it on my project! It's funny how happy accidents occur when you are crafting. Below I show you 2 different projects I created using this baby wipe smear technique and I just absolutely love it! I love that I could control it and that it created a simple background that my overthinking brain didn't muddle up.

Our retreat this weekend that I was a part of, was a 2 day event and everyone who attended received a goody bag, since it was Lisa Marie's 20th stampaversary ( congrats!!) everyone received a little extra beyond the standard $50 dollar goody bag budget. Everyone received the Most wonderful Time Medley. Which by the way is AMAZING! The catalog pictures never do complete justice and I was deterred by the price, but you have to remember that the medleys are an all INCLUSIVE kit. So in this medley you received a FULL stamp set, a FULL set of dies, a spool of exclusive tinsel trim, GORGEOUS 6"x6" DSP with gold foil accents, full size cardfronts with gold foil accents and cardstock quaility coordinating stickers! It is absolutely wonderful... hehe. You can click the photo below to purchase the medley and/or the pigment sprinkles!

Every Sunday evening at 7:30 pm CT Lisa Marie and I come together and we are doing a Spontaneous Stampin' Sunday Live on Facebook. In this week's live, I demonstrated the baby wipe technique plus we both featured some samples from our medley PDF that everyone at the retreat received in their goody bag! If you order the Medley from me you will receive the PDF for free plus the paper to make each of the 6 cards featured in the PDF! How fantastic is that!? You can click either of the pictures below to purchase or my full site is listed below as well for your perusing pleasures.

In this sample, I incorporated the medley stamps and the pigment sprinkles. To get the background, I simply sprinkled the pigment sprinkles onto my fluid 100 water color paper and then swiped a baby wipe left to right across the paper to create this smeared appearance. I love the titration of colors!!

In this sample, I incorporated the sip, sip hooray bundle. I smeared two colors, the Bermuda Bay and Gorgeous Grape. Then smeared the sprinkles with a baby wipe. I went in a second time with a few more sprinkles of each color and I was able to get this bubbly appearance up at the top, so I thought it was fitting to emboss a tall glass of bubbly!

Love the samples and want to try your hand at the baby wipe smear technique-- click either of the pictures below or you can shop my full website here
