"Meow" means thank you in Cat.

Image
If you guys have been following me long or if you have watched my videos, you are aware that I have a cat. Her name is Emmy, she is spoiled rotten and she is my baby! We happen to share a few things in common: we both prefer a quiet night in our favorite spot, warm blankets and tasty snacks and we both enjoy the craft room. Which is where we stray from our similarites. where I like the craft room for creating and making beautiful things to share with others, she prefers to shred and destroy all paper items, successfully producing confetti that is nearly impossible to clean up. Emmy is very particular with her food choices. It has to be a cut consistency, not a pate and she would rather starve than eat any food with the smallest amount of chicken in the recipe- she does however enjoy fresh chicken. She is a brat. Anyway, my dad recently bought her some food because it is cheaper on the military base than at our local grocery stores. Of course we thanked him, but Dad being - a dad- ha

Stamp Camp Episode 1

Image
Okay, So I am few days late posting the first episode of "Stamp Camp." It has been a busy week at work and the time got away from me. Please excuse my cat who decided to make a guest appearance. In this video, I demonstrated two of our current stamp sets and explained the differences between our photopolymer stamps and new Cling Stamps. Stampin' Up has grown so much in the last 20 years. I still remember when the catalog was all wood and red rubber. It was a lot like assembling a puzzle and you had to cut out your stamps before adhering them permanently to the wood block. We have slowly phased out most of our wood mount stamps, but if you just absolutely love the wood blocks, you can still purchase the background stamps in wood mount. I love that Stampin' Up has kept the traditional red rubber and incorporated it into the world of cling stamps and we have this hybrid between the old and new. The photopolymer stamps are also amazing. I particularly love that you can

Lets talk about Paper Pumpkin, if you are not a current subscriber you should consider at least trying the 1 month pre-paid subscription! Every month you receive an adorable red box with all the supplies that you need to complete a set of projects. Sometimes, they are cards and other times they are tags, boxes or treat holders. The one thing that is consistent is there is ALWAYS something amazing in the box. Not to mention, if you don't particularly care for the projects that are provided in instruction, you can pinterest or google alternative Paper Pumpkin projects and somewhere, in the cyber world, someone super smart and creative has done all the thinking for you! The possibilities are truly endless! Every month before they charge your card and ship you a box, they give a preview or a "taste" of what to expect in the box, so if the preview doesn't do it for you then you simply check the box on your account that says "skip a month." Your card won't b

Motivational Monday

Image
"You leave so many fun toys out on the table when you craft!"  I am throwing out the old tag of "Manic Monday" and renaming it "Motivational Monday." I have managed to earn the roll of secretary at our Panhandle Pearls Team meeting and I have been placed with the duty of developing a weekly challenge for our team members. As I explained to the group, the more time you spend working with the product the more likely you are to talk about your creations and share it with potential customers. Even if you are not planning on reaching potential customers and you are just crafting as a hobbyist, you need to be getting your hands on the product! You become more comfortable with the tools and techniques and you will be able to see your work changing. It is so easy to get stuck in the same box of creating similar projects over and over again. When you start getting bored, you no longer enjoy the thing that once brought you joy and relief. Stamping is not suppos

Sailing Home Water color technique

Image
I had so much fun with this technique! I have recently ventured into the world of water color and I have been trying my hand at painting, which I have never been good at free-handing anything; I think that is one of the reasons I really like stamping! You don't have to be artistic and you don't typically free hand too many things, you ink the image, you stamp the image- instant perfection! Hello Friends! I have finally decided to jump into the cyber world and share my creations with other people!  I have been crafting for what feels like a life time! Seriously though, I grew up crafting: stamping, scrapbooking, sewing, crocheting- I just love to make home made things and hand made items have always held a special place in my life. I am a full time occupational therapist which if you are aware of the historical background of the career field, it began in the arts and crafts world and the very first OTs were called the arts and crafts nurses- so my career is fitting to say the least! I absolutely love my career field, I can't even call it a job because that word just holds this yucky, 9-5, mundane connotation and my career as an occupational therapist is anything BUT mundane! I work with the elderly 4 days a week in a home health setting and I work with some amazing children 1 day a week in an outpatient clinic. It challenges me, keeps me on my toes and constantly ha
