Motivational Monday

I am throwing out the old tag of "Manic Monday" and renaming it "Motivational Monday." I have managed to earn the roll of secretary at our Panhandle Pearls Team meeting and I have been placed with the duty of developing a weekly challenge for our team members. As I explained to the group, the more time you spend working with the product the more likely you are to talk about your creations and share it with potential customers. Even if you are not planning on reaching potential customers and you are just crafting as a hobbyist, you need to be getting your hands on the product! You become more comfortable with the tools and techniques and you will be able to see your work changing. It is so easy to get stuck in the same box of creating similar projects over and over again. When you start getting bored, you no longer enjoy the thing that once brought you joy and relief. Stamping is not supposed to be stressful, friends! So, today I revised a childhood game of tic-tac-toe and coined it Tic-Tac-Stamp. The idea is each Monday, I will post a Tic-Tac-Stamp grid and you choose 3 in a row and create one card that uses all 3 of the items cohesively. Fun, right!? I have included this week's below so you can join in!
My next stop in my Motivational Monday was planning out my "Stamp Camp" videos. I am going to start posting some short segments to remind my new stampers and my more seasoned stampers alike some of the basics and simple tips and tricks to best utilize and care for your supplies. Some of the most devastating things I can think of are craft supplies that go unopened and unused! I want everyone to feel confident in using their supplies and enjoying their investment. My first segment was all about the types of stamps that Stampin' Up! provides, how to assemble your new stamps, how to use the clear blocks, how to clean and store your stamps. There was even a bonus addition on how to ink your stamps without making additional lines and excess ink around your image. As you can see above, Emmy was also quite invested in the production of my first "Stamp Camp" video and you can hear her a couple of times rummaging through my stuff and knocking things around. Keep an eye out, I will be posting the video in a separate post!
After spending the afternoon with some amazing kids at the clinic, I returned to my mom's house where we hosted a blog tutorial/gathering for a group of our team members. This is only slightly comedic because none of us have actually blogged before and don't know the difference between a widget and a gadget... all I know is if I push enough buttons eventually I get my blog to look half decent. By the end of the evening, we all had operable blogs, shared a ton of laughs and got a little bit of work done. I have to say, promoting yourself and a business is very time consuming and hats off to all those who have successfully turned an online business into a career.
