UPDATES!

UPDATED EVENTS!!!  This has been a super busy week with work! We are transitioning into a new computer system and so it has been a little chaotic, I need to be better about scheduling my blog posts and making sure you guys have access to all the things even when I am busy! I am spending my Saturday morning and afternoon, taking pictures, writing blog posts, scheduling events for you all and I have a card swap this afternoon. Guess what I was doing last night?  yep, I am that person, I designed and cranked out 12 cards last night in preparation for the swap this afternoon! They are super cute and I will share a post later this afternoon with my design, I have to say, I think it is quite "Fin"tactic :)  In other news, please check out the google calendar above so that you can see all the fantastic upcoming events that I have planned for you all! Don't worry, I wrote them all out below, too! :)  *** please note that ALL classes are BYOA ( Bring Your Own Adhes...

Puck, Penn and Percy

Image
HAPPY FRIYAY!!!! To celebrate one of the greatest days of the week I am sharing my favorite penguin pals! Have I mentioned that I LOVE penguins! I guarantee this will not be the last card you see from me using Playful Penguins! I cased the card from the holiday catalog, in their example they used lighter more non-traditional type colors, but I wanted to use more of the Wrapped in Plaid DSP so I decided to change up the colors completely to compliment my new favorite paper. I loved that there was a plaid design that had 3 different colors so that I could really give each of the penguins their own look. This makes sense if you read my previous post where I had identified and gave each of the penguins a personality. I did everything but name them which come to think of it, let us just go ahead and do that. Now that we have all three of them in one place, I will introduce you more formally to my new friends! Left to right: Puck is rocking his vibrant shaded spruce scarf, as you can ...

Merry Moose

Image
I am absolutely LOVING my new Holiday products! I was able to play with my new stuff this past weekend and I just adore this Merry Moose! Anytime you can combine a cute animal with a punny phrase I just melt! I love a good pun! This moose is awesome because he has a coordinating punch so I didn't have to fussy cut him out of the paper to give him dimension, I just had to pop him right out of the paper. I also used the banner triple punch which I think might be my new favorite. I made a similar layout card that I posted earlier in the week using the Sailing Home stamp set. Pro tip- when you find a layout that you love and is appealing to the eye, simply recycle the layout; change the colors and stamps and have a completely different card and you only did half the work! I also used the new Wrapped in Plaid 6x6 designer series paper which is AMAZING! It is a pack of 48 sheets which includes 4 pieces of 12 different double sided designs. Each paper has one side that is embossed ...

Peek at the August class

Image
If you are coming  to my August card class then you will be able to make this card with me! I felt like mixing the old with the new when I designed this card. I absolutely love our new nautical set Sailing Home with the sailboats and the anchor, but I still love the words that are in the original lighthouse stamp set, High Tide. This was a simple layout which featured the banner triple punch ( why are the words backwards, I feel like it should be called the triple banner punch.. alas I did not name the product). The banner triple punch was designed to assist with making banners without having to fuss with getting the corners straight, it does all the work for you, which is great because banners and I do not get along! The banner punch is designed to accommodate banners that are 1 inch, 1 1/2 inches and 2 inches wide. My night of navy banner was created at 2 inches by 4 1/4 inches and my white layer is ever so slightly smaller than 2 inches by 4 inches. DSP is cut to 2 i...

Playful Penguins

Image
If you watched my live Facebook video where I unboxed all my new goodies, then you heard me mention that I absolutely LOVE penguins. They are my favorite animal, besides cats. but as far as wild animals that I would never physically own, penguins are at the top of the list. Followed by giraffes. Anyway. I mentioned that I wanted to put the penguin on the beach. It only makes sense... my stamping business is named "Stamp by the beach" partly because I knew you guys would never spell my name right but mostly because I live 45 minutes from the beautiful emerald coast beaches. I love making beach themed cards and using beachy themes, I live so close to amazing inspiration and gorgeous views that it is hard to not draw inspiration and ideas for cards and projects. So here he is, two of my favorite things wrapped up in a card.   I used the Water Front stamp set which is a beautifully designed "painting" stamp set. It has all the brush strokes that you wou...

Upcoming Product based classes!

Image
I received my first ( because can you really order too many things?) holiday pre-order yesterday and I am so stinkin' excited! This Holiday catalog has some AMAZING items for all the seasons- this catalog covers so many diverse holidays, even though we all get excited about the Christmas and winter themed items, there are a ton of items for fall, halloween and even Thanksgiving! Which is great, we should never really need an excuse to gift someone with a card or a handwritten message, BUT the next few months are perfect opportunities to reach out to people that you may not have been in contact with for a while.  This is also a perfect excuse to come craft with me this month! I have brand new, hot off the press holiday catalogs and they need a new home! I have regular card classes scheduled this month and they are quickly approaching- like this week! I have a few seats available at the Thursday evening class at 6:30 pm! Let me know if you are coming so that I can have enough su...
